Thirty two years ago today was the best day of my Mom's life ... or something like that. ;) In a truly self-absorbed post, I have now relayed to you my loyal readers (all two of you) that it is indeed my birthday. You may start singing to me and come bearing gifts.
Dave and the kids got me a shirt and a new pair of running shoes. Stop snickering about the running shoes. I treated myself to a new workout routine -- Couch to 5K. Its a nine-week program to prepare you to run a 5K. At this point, running half a mile would be an improvement.

Couch to 5k is good. Also look into http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Knovice.htm.
Honestly Jen, don't put too much into the specific "walk 6 minutes, run tempo 8 mins, walk 4 mins" routines...just make a commitment to run 3-4 times a week and start with a 1/2 mile....work up to a mile. I used that indoor track at Southeast and worked up to a 5k there. It's only 9 laps around and you have gone a full mile....it goes by quick. A month later, you will feel less winded and hopefully addicted to the sport. People either fall in love with it (the feeling when you are done is pricessless) or hate it. I really sense you are going to love it. Awwww and you and Dave can run as a couple (which I am totally envious of because J won't do anything that requires fitness).
