Closed for the season ...

Molly, upon seeing the empty parking lot at our church, remarked: "Church must be closed for the season." Apparently. she sees church as something akin to an amusement park. Our last church was pretty large and often referred to as "Six Flags over Jesus". So maybe that's where she got it from. (I'm kidding ... no hate mail from my friends at Southeast.) Also, as my friend pointed out (Hi Katie), we were going to have her vision tested so maybe that was the problem. What she saw as empty, was actually a full parking lot.

All this nonsense brings me to one point: Aren't you glad that God is never closed for the season? His love and grace is available to us 24 hours a day and 365 days out of the year. He never takes a vacation and He never rests. We are welcome to visit him anytime and anywhere.

"... indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep." (Psalm 121:4)
